I wanted to share a little glimpse into my Mother’s Day weekend—not because anything wild or extravagant happened, but because honestly, it looked a lot like most weekends for us. And that’s something I’m incredibly grateful for.

Every Sunday, no matter how full the week has been, I unplug completely from work. My husband and I take the kids to church, and almost every single week, we meet up afterward for lunch with my side of the family.

And when I say family—I mean family. I’m one of ten siblings. Nine of us are grown, most married with kids of our own, and somehow, we all still live within 40 minutes of each other. It’s a gift I never want to take for granted. Our kids are growing up more like best friends than just cousins. They’re surrounded by love, laughter, and more family than they know what to do with.

That’s what Mother’s Day looked like for me this year. Surrounded by people I love, completely disconnected from my business, just soaking up every minute.

And here’s the part that still amazes me: While I was offline all day, I earned over $1,600.

Not from a live launch or a last-minute promo blast. Just… the systems I’ve built quietly doing their job while I rested and enjoyed the day.

That’s what digital marketing has made possible for us. My husband and I don’t work 9-to-5 schedules. We work on our own terms during the week and protect our weekends like gold. There’s margin in our days, space to breathe, and flexibility that most jobs just don’t allow for.

Of course, none of this happened overnight. There were seasons of hustle, trial and error, and figuring things out one step at a time.
