Wait… September’s already halfway over?

Hey Reader,

I can’t believe September is already halfway over. I haven’t even listened to my favorite song of the season yet.

Hold on… going to do that now.

Cue “Wake Me Up When September Ends.”

Okay, I’m back.

I actually love this time of year. The crisp air, slower pace, and the feeling that you’re allowed to pause and breathe a little deeper. And this year, I’m especially thankful that I can slow down and enjoy it.

For the better part of the last ten years, I’ve been able to choose my own “vacation days.” Not because I’ve earned some seniority or racked up PTO, but because that’s what entrepreneurship allows. When you learn what to sell—whether that’s a physical product or something digital—then figure out how to sell it using the right words, and where to sell it by choosing the platforms that work for you, you’re already more than halfway there.

After that, it comes down to consistency and staying open to learning, adjusting, and growing with the changing seasons.

One thing I’ve realized lately is that real connection with people doesn’t always come from saying the most polished thing or posting the perfect graphic. Most of the time, people just want to know that you get it. Maybe it's that you’re walking through similar things or that you're showing up despite the chaos or the quiet. That you're in the same season of life—or at least you remember what it felt like.

Sometimes that’s the season of raising babies or launching something new or getting back on your feet after a setback. Other times, it's the season of cooler weather, football games, and pumpkin-flavored everything. Either way, connection happens when we stop performing and start relating.

So take this as a little grain of salt for wherever you're at today. Think about what you’re building, what goals are sitting there waiting for your attention, and what it’s going to take to bring them to life.

No one else is going to check those goals off for you.

You don’t have to move at lightning speed. But you do have to move.

This is such a beautiful time to reflect, reset, and prepare. And if I can help you figure out what to sell, how to sell it, or where to show up to start earning, just hit reply. I’d love to help you sort it out.

Talk soon,

Hey Reader, I promise I wasn’t trying to complain about missing the Labor Day sales. But looking back, I can see how it may have come across that way. What I meant to share, beyond the whole “missed the flooring deal” moment, was a little reminder of how quickly life moves, how easy it is to forget to pause, and how much good is sitting right in front of us if we just stop long enough to notice it. That moment led me to a question I’ve been turning over in my mind lately. So what does it mean...

A family is shopping in a store

Hey Reader, This past weekend was a blur, but in a good way. I was hopping online here and there, sending out updates, publishing about Labor Day deals, and doing my best to help others snag the savings I knew they’d love. But somewhere in the middle of it all, I forgot to shop the sales myself. My husband and I are currently in the middle of restoring one of our rental units. We’re putting in the effort to bring the space back to life and make it a great place for someone to call home. One...

Hey Reader, Something I’ve told myself over and over again is that owning a business is hard—but it’s worth it. Some months are incredible. Sales come in steadily, ideas flow, and everything clicks. Then the next month rolls around and suddenly, it feels like everything slows to a crawl. People are quieter. Engagement drops. Income dips. And it’s easy to start second guessing everything. I’ve been through that enough times to know now—it’s just part of the rhythm. This time of year...
